Guillem Torró Senent is an international trumpet performer, educator, and researcher whose work bridges artistic excellence, innovative pedagogy, and practice-based research. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied with Caleb Hudson, and currently serves as Instructor of Trumpet at Georgia College & State University, teaching applied trumpet to majors and minors and coaching chamber music ensembles.
Guillem holds a Master’s degree in Orchestral Performance from Georgia State University, where he studied with Alexander Freund, as well as a Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Valencia.
As a performer, Guillem maintains an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral trumpeter across the United States and Europe. He has collaborated with ensembles such as the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and the North Texas Wind Symphony, and toured extensively with M5 Mexican Brass, presenting both concert and pedagogical programs throughout the US. His solo appearances include performances at the Ravenna International Organ Music Festival (Italy), where he premiered Fanfarria! (2024) for trumpet and organ. He has also toured and recorded as lead trumpet with a wide range of ensembles, experiences that continue to shape his artistic voice. Guillem is an active member of Jordi Albert Trumpet Academy and has received musical guidance from Vicente Costa, whose mentorship has significantly influenced his artistic development.
As an educator, Guillem is dedicated to fostering a student-centered, inclusive learning environment that emphasizes listening, self-regulation, and long-term artistic development. His teaching focuses on applied trumpet, chamber music, and brass pedagogy, integrating performance psychology, healthy practice habits, and effective preparation strategies. He regularly presents masterclasses in the United States, Mexico, and Europe. He is also the co-founder of The Young Trumpet Studio, an international educational initiative dedicated to high-level trumpet training, artistic autonomy, and sustainable professional development.
Guillem’s research emerges directly from artistic practice. Working within a practice-based and action-research framework, he explores how musical knowledge is generated through performing, practicing, and teaching, with particular interest in self-regulated practice, performance anxiety, and sustainable approaches to music making.
Beyond the studio and stage, Guillem is actively involved in educational outreach and community engagement. He has mentored trumpet performers and educators internationally, co-founded educational initiatives in Spain focused on access to music education, and founded the Will Music Student Agency, a platform designed to connect young musicians with academic and professional opportunities. Across all his work, Guillem believes that education is the most powerful tool for building a better society.
